December 22, 2015

The Bermuda Hotel Association announced that Mr. Clarence Hofheins, General Manager of Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa in Sandys, has been named as the Hotelier of the Year.

Mr. Hofheins was honored by his colleagues at the recent Annual Bermuda Hotel Association luncheon which took place on Thursday 10th December 2015 at the Coco Reef Hotel with his wife, Kristyn and family members and special friends in attendance .

Mr. Hofheins was selected by past winners of this prestigious award, which was presented to him by Shawn Crockwell, Minister of Tourism Development & Transport. Minister Crockwell on presenting the award remarked that he was pleased to note the fine contribution which Mr. Hofheins had made to the hotel/hospitality industry during his 30+ years of service, in addition to the ongoing outreach services which he provides to the wider community as the Bishop of the Mormon Church in Bermuda.

On receiving the award, and recovering from the surprise of having his wife Kristyn, family members and friends in attendance, he commented that he was humbled at having been selected as the recipient of the award, and he thanked his fellow hoteliers and the many staff and industry professionals that he has had the privilege of working with over his years in the industry.

He was especially pleased to have an excellent team at Cambridge Beaches who shared in his philosophy and importance on placing the needs of their guest first, to not only ensure that they had a truly first class Bermuda vacation experience, and more so to ensure that they thought of Bermuda first when planning their future vacation and leisure experiences.

Mr. Bushara Bushara, President Elect of the Bermuda Hotel Association, in the absence of the President, Mr. JP Martens, extended his congratulations and thanks to Mr. Hofheins on his having received the award and his unwavering commitment and dedication to the local industry.
