Rugby: BRFU Ladies & Men’s Division Results
The Bermuda Rugby Football Union’s 2015/16 Season continued at the National Sports Center South Field.
The opening match of the day saw the joint League Leaders Police Ladies went down to fourth place Mariners Ladies 3-2. The Mariners got tries from Caroline Aberhart, Neeks Borden and Karly Alleyne, while Police got tries from Saphia Tonkin and Janie Nel.
That match was followed by the third placed Teachers Ladies defeating the joint League Leaders Renegades Ladies 2 – 1. Lauren Rothwell and Gillian Cross scored a try each for the Teachers, while the lone Renegades try was scored by Laura Mulligan.
The League Leading Police Men’s team hammered the fourth placed Mariners Men’s team 41 – 12. Police got 2 tries from John Stathakis, Tommy Edwards and Roedolf Van der Westhuizen, while Dan Cole kicked 4 conversions and a penalty. Ian Frith scored both tries for Mariners, with Roy Dublin kicking 1 conversion.
Second place Teachers went down 36 – 24 to third placed Renegades, the Renegades got single tries from Brian Archibald, Jamie Baum, Conor McGlynn, John Quigley and Rich Cumbers. Archibald also added 3 conversions and 1 penalty. Jahniko Francis scored 2 tries for Teachers who also got tries from Josh DeAllie and Marcus Simons, Francis also kicked 2 conversions.
