Temporary Closure Of Cemetery Road

December 9, 2015

BELCO said they wish to advise motorists and pedestrians that Cemetery Road is currently closed to traffic through the week of December 14 in order to replace a redundant fire pump.

“Further intermittent closures are expected to occur throughout December into the New Year as the project is completed,” BELCO said.

“Neighboring businesses, including Animal & Garden House, Gorhams and TreeCon are open for business as usual and can be accessed from the Western entrance of Cemetery Road. Businesses at the east end of Cemetery Road remain accessible from St. John’s Road.

“BELCO apologizes for the inconvenience this may cause and thanks neighbors and the public for their cooperation. We will continue to provide updates via belco.bm, Facebook and Twitter, as the work progresses.”

What happened the announcement for this week?

  2. lizard says:

As I said before Belco does not have the authority to close off any roads.
Police and Works & Engineering have that right.

@ Lizard if you are correct then how come its Belco that is issuing this announcement and why was it not done sooner? Surely Belco should have time limits to complete any work needed to be done but the public should not be subjected to random closings at Belco’s discretion.
