Youth Sailors Competing In Malaysia & Florida

Bermuda’s junior sailors are presently testing their skills against international competitors, with the island being represented at both the Youth Sailing World Championships in Malaysia and the Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta in Florida

Youth Sailing World Championships In Malaysia

Ceci and Mikey Wollmann are taking part in the Youth Sailing World Championships in Malaysia.

Ceci Wollmann began the day in 12th place overall in the field of 49 Women Laser Radial sailors, she recorded a 11th place finish in the first race, which was followed by a 24th place finish in the second race and she comes off the water in 14th place with 34 Net Points.

In a Fleet of 65 Boy’s Mikey Wollmann started the day in 37th with 77 points, but after the two races on the day, he finds himself in 36th place with 95 Net Points. Mikey Wollmann recorded finishes of 25th in the Opening Race of the day and the third of the Regatta and 35th in the second.

Orange Bowl Regatta In Florida

A group of young Bermuda sailors took to the waters off the Coral Reef Yacht Club in Florida as the 2015 Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta continued.

After 14 races in the Orange Bowl Regatta Green Fleet, Jack Roberts moved up four spots and is in 5th place with 78 points, Peter Komposch is currently 10th in the 114 points.

Skye Oliveira is in 24th with 276 points, currently in 25th place is Rachael Betschart with 280 points, while Gianni Santucci is 33rd with 342 points and Cameron Pimentel is in 45th with 508 points.

Adam Larson continues to lead the Bermuda Fleet in the Full Optimist Division in 25th place with 51 points, four races were also held in the Division, with Larson recording finishes of 26th, 11th, 6th and 19th. Sebastian Kempe fell 4 places and is now in 99th place with 297 points recording finishes of 40th, 38th, 37th and 34th.

With finishes of 32nd, 23rd, 29th and 31st sees Christian Ebbin move up from his 109th starting position to end the day 102nd with 300 points, Aiden Lopes is in 117th place with 339 points, Leyli Walker is currently in 121st with 351 points and Magnus Ringsted is in 124th with 361 points.

Currently holding the 129th position is Jacob Pimentel with 384 points, Ethan Edmunds is in 135th place with 390 points.

Nicholas Bridges is in 160th with 439 points, while Daylon Whitter is in 163rd with 441 and Daniel Larson is currently holding the 178th spot is with 477 points.
