Court: Two Men Charged With Drug Offences

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Jan 28], a 29-year-old man and 35-year-old man faced charges alleging  involvement with various drugs said to total street value alleged to be over $20,000.

Alexander Wilks and Peter Lewis were charged with possessing cocaine that was intended for supply and doing so in Southampton in February 2015. Both men plead not guilty to this charge.

Mr Lewis also faced charges that between a date unknown and February 2015, in Pembroke, he possessed cannabis, cannabis resin, diamorphine [heroin], cocaine, MDMA, LSD and a digital scale intended for use with illegal substances and that bore traces of cocaine. Mr Lewis plead not guilty to these charges.

Mr Wilks faced charges that in February 2015, he allegedly possessed cocaine intended for supply, and cannabis intended for supply. He plead not guilty to these charges.

The Magistrate set trial for April 2016,  granted each man bail at $50,000 with one surety each; required them to surrender all their travel documents; and ordered them to report to Hamilton Police Station every Monday and Thursday.
