Soul Food Looks To Make 2016 “Break Out Year”

January 12, 2016

Following a year that saw the launch of their Mobile Fun Zone, Soul Food Promotions say that they are looking to make 2016 “a break out year” for the company and its initiatives.

Among its other endeavours, Soul Food Promotions also launched its Hobby Zone with the help of Detroy Bean in 2015, providing hobbyists with the opportunity to enjoy a remote control vehicle experience for a rental fee.

The group will be hosting a Mobile Fun Zone Family Fun Night on Saturday, January 30 from 7.00pm to 12.00am at the Hamilton SDA Youth Centre on King Street.

Admission will be free, with snacks and soft drinks on sale, remote control cars and drones for a $5 rental fee, electric Pitbikes for $10 per person per turn, a video arcade for $3 per person per turn, music, and live entertainment by Trinity Sound, along with a 2-on-2 or 3-on-3 half-court basketball challenge.

A spokesperson said, “Soul Food Promotions launched the Mobile Fun Zone on Good Friday at The St. David’s Cricket Club, featuring a mobile Video game tent with Playstations and X-Boxes, Mega Pongo, Spin Pong, and Go Pong, along with music and positive vibes for both kids and adults to enjoy.

“Since then, the Soul Food Promotions Mobile Fun Zone has been showing up at various locations and events around the island.

“Our motto is ‘We Bring The Fun To You.’ We are set up to do birthday parties, community events as a vendor, corporate events, team building sessions, and more! We can take any space from a classroom, living room, backyard, or boardroom, and turn it into a Mobile Fun Zone.

“In October, the Hobby Zone hosted their first ever camp for middle school and high school age boys called ‘Club Hobby Zone’ during the October Fall midterm break. The #HobbyZoneSouljahz set up the Club to introduce the boys to various hobbies and fun activities, including how to operate, build, and fix various R/C vehicles.”

“Detroy Bean, who is also a Certified Motor Bike Mechanic, was on hand to teach the boys about some motor mechanic basics. Brotha Richie set up a barbershop section to do some barber 101 sessions and give the boys a trim if needed, and also incorporated his Young Lions Sound DJ Mentoring program, giving the boys some hands on DJ experience, playing music, and learning what it really takes to move a crown through music.

“Club Hobby Zone also partnered with Alan Looby of Bermuda Security Agency & Pak’s Karate Academy Bermuda, to hold a Matial Arts Mentor Session with the boys. Mr. Looby spoke to them about anti-social behaviors, bullying, and making the right life choices, and then held a martial arts self defense deom with Brotha Richie and a training session with the boys.

“Soul Food Promotions, The Hobby Zone, and Brotha Richie and crew are looking to make 2016 a break out year. Just last month, they aquired an inflatable 45 foot by 45 foot track with mini Moto Pitbikes [2 electric, 1 90cc gas bike] to further expand The Fun Zone’s offerings, with more to come.”
