Suspect With “Sharp Object” Steals Man’s iPod

Police responded to an incident that took place yesterday at around 1am on Brunswick Street in which a suspect “brandished a sharp object” and stole an iPod and gift certificate from a 49-year-old man.

A police spokesperson said, “Police responded to a report of an incident that took place yesterday around 1am.

“The complainant, a 49-year-old man, states that he was walking along Brunswick Street, when he was stopped by a male who engaged him in conversation, however he abruptly brandished a sharp object and made demands of money.

“He then stole an iPod and a gift certificate from the complainant and then made good his escape. 

“The suspect is described as a brown complexioned male, wearing dark grey clothing; he was believed to be around 5’5, of thin build and in his early to mid-twenties.

“Police are asking for anyone that can assist with this investigation to contact police on 2950011.”
