Basketball: Flyboys, Skyforce & Rimrockers Win
The Somersfield Academy Gymnasium was once again the scene of a Cellone Island Basketball League make-up Triple Header that produced 361 points on the night, which were the final games of the league season.
The Flyboys finish the season with an 18 game win streak after defeating the Court Kings 83 – 49 and having a record of 19-2, leaving the Court Kings with a record of 7-14. Kieron Burgess led the Flyboys to victory with a game high 30 points, while the Court Kings got 10 points from Kamron James.
In game 2. the two youngest teams in the league went up against each other in the Thunder Cats and Skyforce with the Skyforce winning in Over Time 62 – 60. Rye Aronson was the top scorer with 24 points for the Thundercats, while the Skyforce was Sean Tucker score 21 points.
In the final game of the night, the Crossfire Ballers took on and went down 55 – 52 to the Rimrockers. Ronnie Bushner scored a game high 23 points for the Rimrockers, while the Crossfire Ballers got 22 points from Dion Smith.
