BMDS Presents ‘Stick Fly’ By Lydia R. Diamond

The Bermuda Musical and Dramatic Society [BMDS] is getting set to present ‘Stick Fly,’ a play by Lydia R. Diamond, under the direction of Jennifer Burrell-Jones.

The play will take place from February 11-13 and 18-20, with an additional night on February 17, with all performances to be held at The Daylesford Theatre. Curtain is at 8.00pm and tickets cost $30 each.

The cast will include Che Barker [Flip], India Wilson [Cheryl], Kathelin Lembert [Taylor], Paige Stienlet [Kimber], Adrian Kawaley-Lathan [Kent], and Ed Christopher [Dad].

A spokesperson said, “Stick Fly takes place during a summer weekend in Martha’s Vineyard as the LeVay brothers bring their girlfriends home to meet the parents. Between Tea and Trivial Pursuit, longstanding tensions flare when secrets are revealed for this African-American family.”

ennifer Burrell-Jones said, “Stick Fly continues the BMDS commitment to bringing insightful and relevant stories to the stage. “While this play deals with sensitive issues of race and privilege, it is ultimately about family and relationships and that is why it will appeals to everyone.”

“There will be a with a special opening night beach house themed party on February 11th with complimentary cocktails starting at 7pm. Audience members are encouraged to come dressed to impress as the theatre will be transformed into the LeVay’s posh Martha’s Vineyard home.”
