Court: Man Admits Theft & Damaging Window

February 2, 2016

Appearing in Magistrates Court, Darren Anglin pleaded guilty to entering the Sunshine League building, stealing food to the value of $12 and unlawfully damaging a window.

The Crown Prosecutor told Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo that on coming to work earlier this month, they noticed signs of a break in and that inside the building, uneaten food had been thrown on the floor.

They checked the CCTV and found relevant footage. Sunshine League staff also found a cellphone.

They called in the Police. On reviewing the CCTV tapes, and checking the cellphone, police investigators identified Mr Anglin and soon arrested him. On being questioned by the police, the 30-year-old admitted the offense.

Magistrate Tokunbo granted the defendant bail, and he is scheduled to appear at a sitting of the Mental Health Court.
