Boston Whaler Boat Retrieved After Being Stolen

February 16, 2016

A Boston Whaler — that was stolen from the Barr’s Bay area last week — was retrieved in St. George’s Harbour area on Saturday.

A BMOC spokesperson said, “Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre received a VHF call from F/V SURF RUNNER, reporting that a Boston Whaler has been spotted berthed between the NIOBE CORINTHIAN and Marginal Wharf in St. George’s Harbour.

“There was some damage to the Boston Whaler which has since been moved clear of area. BMOC contacts the registered owner who reports that the vessel was stolen from the Barr’s Bay area last week, and retrieves vessel a short while later.”

It is kinda dumb to steal a boat in Bermuda. You can’t put it on a trailer & take it hundreds of miles away. This is a little place. You can’t hide it anywhere. It does not take long to search all of the bays.

    Just plain dumb.
