  1. Parent says:

Wish the busses would just pick them up from school and carry them straight home you miss it oh well make them pay again for busses in town I bet they won’t miss the free one from school !!

    • Islander says:

Buses are provided for Students who most refuse to catch to walk and be a nuisance in places like Mr. Chicken and KFC and the Bus Terminal. Mornings, rather than catch the buses provided from around the Island to Berkeley or Cedarbridge, they end up in Hamilton to go to Buzz for breakfast and behave inappropriately in full uniform. Perhaps Principals and Deputy’s should sit in the restaurants across the street or sit up in the Office of the Bus Terminal to see their students in action and deal with them then and there. It is ridiculous.

      • Jane says:

        STOP BLAMING THE SCHOOL’S.
LOOK AT THE PARENTS THAT HAVE NO CONTROL.

REALLY PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BLAME THE SCHOOL’S BUSES.

        WAKE UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        • Assumptions says:

Parents can have full control of their kids at home, but what happens when the kid leaves? No control of a kid that’s not in their presence.

          • BobsYourUncle says:

Same applies for the school as well. Can’t blame the school for how a kid behaves in town afterhours or before school starts.

          • Casi says:

That would mean the parents haven’t raised the child well to begin with. A child raised properly understands right from wrong.

          • hmmm says:

YOU DON’T CONTROL YOUR KIDS, THEY ARE NOT TV’s. YOU GUIDE YOUR KIDS, TEACH THEM RIGHT FROM WRONG AND HAVE THEM NOT DO TO OTHERS THAT THEY WOULD’N'T WANT DONE TO THEM.

Control, Really !!! Get a grip.

            • Johnny says:

Teaching right from wrong is not enough, we have to instill it in them through positive reinforcement. If you don’t have control of your children they become out of control. Too many of us have tried the nice way, (timeout/talking and all of the other easy punishments) and it does not work. We need to get back to the times when anyone could cut a child’s tail, and the child would be afraid to tell their parents for fear of another cut tail. I bet you none of these wannabe gangstas have ever had a real cut tail from someone who loves them.

              • bbs says:

                Negative reinforcement worked with me!

You act up? You get the belt (dad) or wooden spoon (Mom). And let me tell you, Mom was the way to go.

          • Legalgal says:

If the parents and the schools are not interested what chance do they have. Only the police left to take an interest. Take an interest. They are your kids and our future.

        • HOTDOG says:

I am on your side up bringing starts at HOME.

      • frank says:

the parents need to be a parent and be responsible for their children

  2. Deal with the youth says:

It seems like we have a small but persistent group of youth that are hell bent on destroying the quality of life we have come to know and expect. These young people will be the Bermuda of the Future in the next 5-to 10 years. We must put the resources in place to deal with the ones who are the challenges and we must hold parents accountable at the appropriate times. From the sex tapes, now to the fights we must get on top of this very soon or it will cost us all. PS It is not responsiblity Politicians OBA or PLP, it is about the community and Families taking responsibility for their own.

  5. James says:

So why do we have cctv all over Hamilton? Doesn’t appear to alert the BPS to a large gathering of students fighting. They had to receive several calls before attending. What a joke.

  6. wahoo says:

    What schools were involved?

  7. Keepin' it Real!...4Real! says:

  11. Oh,I see now says:

This is what happens when your parenting skills consists of giving them what they want to shut them up so you can continue to do what ever you were doing in YOUR LIFE.

    • True Believer says:

like having your head your down in your social media instead of paying attention to your children. No time for children anymore… social media taking over!

  12. Oh,I see now says:

    • smh - ppl are oblivious says:

Im laughing now because its only when ppl start seeing the anti social behavior having the possibility of affecting money that it makes the news s**t no one was saying anything when females where making their own gangs like the honey dips n tree and grass crew and having their own “melees”. probably never even heard of them huh? gtfoh

      • smh - ppl are oblivious says:

like “ohh noo the america’s cup is coming and we have kids fighting lets finally say something about it.. smh should have stopped it when the seeds were being planted

  13. Make a new plan Stan says:

It’s so strange to me how people act like bad behavior is something new to young people. Where and when did you all grow up? In the 1800s?

I remember being young and not very wise with great parents who guided me and talked to me about When they were young and not so wise too.

I didn’t get in fights in town but I witnessed more than few brawls in the 80s at the bus terminal and at school. Doesn’t anyone on here remember how people would schedule fights and choose locations so that they could be seen by people?

I’m not saying it’s right but it certainly isn’t new and I think that’s what a lot of young people are suffering from…..too many older people treat them like their behavior is new and almost foreign so they have no confidence about how to work out their angst. No one is born knowing conflict resolution…..that is learned with time, experience and most important through the wisdom of the elders.

Imagine if someone ANYone (not just a parent or teacher) took them aside and told them a story about dealing with a problem they are facing…..it might give them pause.

    I know I know……thumbs down and boooooo……..it’s okay

  14. Young Adult says:

When I was in school I only went town if I had to for an appointment etc. I couldn’t just be roaming in town as my mother knows soo many people that she would receive a phone call that her child was in town up to no good. That fear alone kept me out of town. But this is crazy. North Street, that’s on their way town. They really don’t care where they act up.

  15. ict says:

When you understand we are living in serious time, you’ll stop talking rubbish,,,all that is happening is written

  16. Southampton says:
