Bermuda Men’s National Team Falls 2-1 To Cuba

The Bermuda Men’s National team suffered a 2-1 defeat to Cuba in Havana, with Jonte Smith scoring Bermuda’s lone goal against the Cuban squad.

The Cuban team scored in the 28th minute to open up a 1-0 lead; it remained that way up to half time, with Bermuda playing a well-disciplined game and generating chances.

In the second half, Bermuda was forced to make a substitute and, with them being a man down, Cuba countered and scored another goal. Bermuda continued to press and Jonte Smith scored in the 90th minute to cut the lead to a single goal, but the team couldn’t get the equalizer before the end of the match.

Bermuda’s starting 11 included Dale Eve, Lejaun Simons, Roger Lee, Kilian Elkinson, Tre Ming, Dante Leverock, Keishen Bean, Damon Ming, Reggie Lambe, Jaylon Bather, and Zeiko Lewis.

Substitutes included Drewonde Bascome, Jahnai Raynor, Justin Donawa, Detre Bell, Jonte Smith, Marco Warren, Jair Minors, and Na’eem Griffith.
