“Silent Party” To Feature Music Via Headphones

March 22, 2016

On March 25th “Hush” will be held at Pier 6, with the ‘silent party’ offering a unique party atmosphere without any sound amplification, with all music being transmitted through wireless headphones worn by party goers.

“Each headphone has three channels. The headphone changes color as the listener switch channels,” the organisers explained.”Three DJS will be playing all at once on stage. Each DJ play on their own channel.

“At this event we have DJ Rusty G, D’General, Mista Genius, and DJ Chubb. Rusty G will be on the red channel [Channel 1] D’General will be on the blue channel [Channel 2], Mista Genius and DJ Chubb will be on the green channel [Channel 3]”

“Patrons can listen to their choice of DJ or music genre by switching channels on their headphones. You can tell what DJ is most listened to by the colours of the headphones.

“In a traditional party only one DJ can play at a time. In a ‘Silent Party’ all three DJs play at the same time.

“If you do not have an headphone the entire event looks like a bunch of crazy people all singing and dancing to different music. However once you put your headphone on the entire event comes to life.

“Silent parties are the new wave taking over the entertainment industry. In an era where we constantly complain about noise pollution this is a welcome relief.

“HUSH is being held inside Pier 6, Lower Level. Gates open at 10 pm. Tickets are $40 in advance and can be purchased at Kit n Kaboodle, Stefanel, Mambo, Somers in St Georges, and online at www.BDAtix.bm.”

These events have been going on in Europe for a few years now, silent discos. I went to one in Madrid and it was pretty cool novelty, good to see someone bringing it to Bermuda to give the people something different to experience here. I believe in Europe clubs use these to get around noise violations passed certain times and allows them to be open later throughout the night. Great idea, hope it works well here.

Stupid idea. The whole fun of dancing in a club is feeling the base vibrate as you move.

Why would people find anything negative in this ? We have to respect those who are trying to entertain us by stepping outside of the box. After all we are always complaining about its always the same old thing on the island . Well this is something different .. Let’s let the party goers support and enjoy themselves !

Not a party goer myself but I’m sure it would be interesting to watch for a bit. I agree with “Something New” it’s different and definitely outside the box. Have a safe night all!
