BTA Hosts Video Contest For School Students

April 27, 2016

School children across the Island have until the end of the month to enter the #loveMyBermuda Contest, a challenge designed to introduce young people to the hospitality industry.

The Bermuda Tourism Authority [BTA] visited several local schools to promote the #loveMyBermuda Contest and is now opening the opportunity to all middle and high schools on the Island.

The participation instructions are simple:

  1. Record a video that explains who you are and what you love specifically about Bermuda
  2. Upload your video to your Facebook page [users with private Facebook accounts should post directly onto the BTA’s Corporate Facebook Page]
  3. Post your video using this hashtag: #loveMyBermuda

The most compelling videos will contend for a collection of generously donated prizes from BTA hospitality partners including: Hartley’s Helmet Diving, Coconut Rockets Flyboarding and an aerial tour of Bermuda on Blue Sky Flights.

Challenge entries must be posted no later than April 30, 2016 to be eligible for prizes.

“Our goal is to have people of all ages proudly share their favourite things about Bermuda because in most cases the things we love about our home are exactly the things visitors want to experience the most,” said BTA COO Karla Lacey.

“The #loveMyBermuda Challenge is a fun and creative way to introduce young people to the hospitality industry. We’re pretty impressed with the entries received thus far.”

Has this contest been open for a while? April 30th seems like an unrealistic deadline for an article posted today. Just saying.
