EY Sponsors Education Building For Ag Show

April 13, 2016

EY announced today [Apr 13] its sponsorship of the Education Building at the 2016 Bermuda Agricultural Show, with the EY Education Building to house works of art from Bermuda’s youngest entrepreneurs, focused on the themes of environmental sustainability, recycling, and sustainable practices.

Ryan Oswald, EY Bermuda Partner, said, “We are excited to support an event that has such a deep history in Bermuda, and that this year’s theme of Bermuda Homegrown is bringing the show back to its original roots.

“It is encouraging that our children are engaged in learning about the sustainability of Bermuda’s ecosystem through the program initiated by the Ag Show and look forward to seeing their projects on display in the EY Education Building.”

A spokesperson said, “This year’s show will be completely funded through charitable donations and will feature more than 2,500 exhibitors, 500 animals and tons of junior art pictures and projects on display.

“EY welcomes the community to visit the Ag Show and to the EY Education Building to view children’s projects focused on the following sustainable agriculture themes: [TAG] Tin, Aluminum, Glass: recycling for a more sustainable Bermuda; environmental degradation in Bermuda: habitat destruction and invasive species; defending endangered wildlife in Bermuda; plastic pollution in our oceans; and what does an ideal sustainable community look like for Bermuda?

“You’ll also find tropical fish displays, terrarium displays and box gardens in the EY Education Building.

“EY thanks the efforts of a group of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers, and our fellow sponsors, who are committed to ensuring the Ag Show’s future success and enjoyment by Bermuda for generations to come.”
