1177 Customers Temporarily Lose Electricity

1177 customers in the Harrington Sound, John Smith’s Bay, and Knapton Hill temporarily lost power this evening [May 25] due to a tripped switch.

A BELCO spokesperson said, “At ‎7:53pm a switch was tripped within BELCO’s Town Hill Circuit. As a result, 1177 customers in the Harrington Sound, John Smith’s Bay, and Knapton Hill areas lost power.

“BELCO Crews responded immediately and power was restored at 9:24pm”

        All jokes aside – this is the second time in as many months that this circuit has tripped. Somebody is pulling some serious amperage in this area…

    Ironic in that this happens the same day the news is reporting a price INCREASE for BELCO led by the Price Commission…whoever the hell they are!?
