Bermuda Football Team Arrives In French Guiana

The Bermuda football team arrived in French Guiana without Head Coach Andrew Bascome and Drewonde Bascome who were stricken with a virus so are recovering at the team base in Fort Lauderdale, however the rest of the team are in good spirits and have settled into the accommodations.

The BFA said, “The Bermuda team arrived in French Guiana May 30th. Unfortunately, Head Coach Andrew Bascome and Drewonde Bascome have both been stricken with a virus and were deemed unfit for travel to French Guiana.

“They are both recovering at the team base in Fort Lauderdale. It is anticipated that they will be able to resume their respective roles for the June 4th match against the Dominican Republic.

“The rest of the team are in good spirits and have settled into the accommodations. They will have a training session today at the at Stade Municipal Dr. Edward Lama ahead of their first match in Round 2 against French Guiana. The match will be played at 8pm Bermuda time

“Tickets for the second match Bermuda vs. Dominican Republic at eh National Sports Centre (Main Stadium) are on sale now at Ptix.bm and at the BFA office 295-2199.”
