UK To Print BOTC Passports Starting In June

Minister of Home Affairs Patricia Gordon-Pamplin said she wishes to formally advise the general public that on June 29, 2016, British Overseas Territories Citizen [BOTC] passports will be printed in the UK.

The Bermuda Passport Office, the Department of Immigration will continue to receive applications for BOTC passports.

Minister Gordon-Pamplin said she wants the general public to take note of the following key dates:

  • Only passport customers whose passports have a validity of less than six months may submit an application for a new BOTC passport up to June 23, 2016; the passport will be printed in Bermuda in 8 working days.
  • First-time passport customers may submit an application for a BOTC passport up to June 23, 2016; the passport will be printed in Bermuda in eight [8] working days.

A more detailed Ministerial Statement will be issued in the House of Assembly on May 27, 2016.

    Also no more “I’m going away next week and I forgot to renew my passport, can you hook me up?”

    From what I understand the new passports will also be the same type as the UK ones, which will increase their security features significantly. Lets just hope that they can deliver consistent turnaround times.
