Netball: Summer League Season Gets Underway

The Bermuda Netball Association’s Summer League Season got underway at the Bernard Park.

In the opener the Stars defeated the Signworx Netts Juniors 20 – 9. The Stars were led to victory by Rebecca Coklin who scored 16 goals, while Denisha Gardener added 4 goals. Amaiah Butterfield scored 4 goals, Elishe Smith added 3 goals and Izeya Wainwright scored twice for the Signworx Netts Juniors.

The North Village Lady Rams Old Girls defeated the Summer Ballers 20 – 11, while the National Team defeated the Swallows 44 – 5. The National Team got 21 goals from Kaamilah Nasir, Zekiah Lewis added 17 goals, Demiqua Daniels chipped in with 3 goals, while In-Shanae Smith scored twice and Micah Pond scored once.

Danielle Raynor scored 22 goals to lead the Teachers to a 32 – 19 win over PHC. Camille Edness chipped in with 7 goals for the winners, while Zindzi Swan scored 3 times. PHC got 11 goals from Jennifer Simmons and 8 goals from Vernicka Symonds.
