Pembroke Rotary Celebrates 35 Years Of Service

May 10, 2016

On 12th May, 2016 the Pembroke Rotary Club will celebrate 35 years of service to Bermuda.

“The Pembroke Rotary Club was established in 1981 by members of the Hamilton Rotary Club. At that time there were no breakfast Rotary Clubs in Bermuda, and this was seen as a gap that needed to be filled,” a spokesperson said.

“The Pembroke Club meets at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club each Thursday at 7:30am, and the meetings are generally completed by 8:30am.

“Pembroke is an active Club which takes on numerous local and international service projects each year. This year, the Club’s primary fund raising activity was the Children’s Fair which raised more than $100,000 in total.

“To celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Club there will be a special dinner on 12th May, 2016 at 6:30pm at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club. Speakers at the dinner will provide a brief history of the Club and its accomplishments. The Club will also honour four Bermuda residents with Paul Harris Fellowships.

“All Rotarians [present and past], Honourary Rotarians and friends of Rotary are invited to attend.

“More information on Rotary International and the Rotary Clubs of Bermuda can be found at rotary.org and rotary.bm.”
