BFIS And Drinker Biddle Host Regulatory Panel

The Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies [BFIS], which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and Drinker Biddle’s Insurance Regulatory and Transactional Team hosted a panel titled ‘A Medley of Current Industry Issues: New Exposures/New Products, Regulator Competition and U.S. Solvency Modernization: 2016/17 Landscape’ on June 2.

The event, which took place at the Hamilton Princess Hotel, was followed by a cocktail reception.

Topics covered during the event included developments with possible regulatory compliance implications, such as litigation funding, autonomous vehicles, Zika, and drones. The panelists also discussed cyber issues, regulating by consent order, the U.S. Department of Labor, and more.

The speakers on the panel included Drinker Biddle attorneys Michael Byrne, Michael Halsband, Parimah Hassouri, and John Mulhern and the event was moderated by Drinker Biddle partner and co-head of the firm’s Insurance Regulatory and Transactional Team, Thomas Dawson.

Drinker Biddle Chairman Andrew Kassner and Executive Partner Robert Juelke also attended the event, and introduced the speakers.
