BHW Five Star Friday Relocated To North Field

June 17, 2016

[Updated with video] The expected inclement weather has forced the Bermuda Heroes Weekend organisers to move Five Star Friday to the North Field at the National Sports Centre.

“The event will take place this evening [June 17] at the same time – 6.00pm to 12.00am – with gates opening at 5.30pm,” a spokesperson said. “A large tent will be erected on the field to provide shelter from the elements in the event of rain.

“Attendees are advised to arrive early as the concert will start and end on time. Identification is mandatory to enter all BHW events this weekend. For Five Star Friday, attendees over the age of 18 will be given a special wristband, which allows them access to the bars. Those under 18 will not be allowed to purchase alcohol.”

Update 10.09pm: A quick look at the event underway this evening

Jason Sukdeo, President, BHW, said, “We are looking forward to kicking off Bermuda Heroes Weekend tonight at the North Field at National Sports Centre. With the weather forecasting not the best conditions, we wanted to ensure Five Star Friday will go forward as scheduled.

“On behalf of BHW, I would encourage the community to come out and enjoy the first official event of the weekend.”

“The remaining BHW events – J’Ouvert, Parade of Bands, Pan in the Park and The Raft Up – will be held at their original locations and will go ahead in the event of inclement weather.

“To purchase tickets for Five Star Friday, Parade of Bands and the Raft Up, visit ptix.com. Pan in the Park is free to all spectators. J’Ouvert is now sold out and there will not be any more tickets released.”
