Man Arrested After Visiting Hospital With Injury
A 21-year-old man has been arrested after attending the hospital for treatment of a hand injury, which followed after a man was seen injuring his hand after shoplifting from Brown and Co earlier today.
A police spokesperson said, “At around 11.05am, police received a report of an incident that took place at Brown and Co. in the City of Hamilton. Upon police arrival it was ascertained that a male was seen to remove an item from the shelf and conceal it on his person.
“The suspect was then followed inside the store by a security guard. Once the suspect noticed he was being followed, he began to quickly exit out of the store, injuring his hand on the glass door.
“A 21 year old male later attended the hospital for treatment of a hand injury and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of shoplifting.
“Inquiries into this incident continue.”
Guess he got caught broken handed.

This guy was not stealing from a grocery store, tho it is possible that the item he took might have been sold and the cash paid for something else. For tunately he injured himself while escaping and the injury required that he go to the hospital, and arrested. Security is a tough job, well done to you. I believe a member of the public would have assisted you, had you needed help.
