City Of Hamilton Celebrates Back To School

August 29, 2016

The City of Hamilton is celebrating the start of the school term by hosting a free public event on City Hall grounds this weekend, Saturday September 3rd.

A spokesperson said, “The festivities at this free City event will involve up to $1500 of prize giveaways in school supplies, shoes, backpacks and more as well as a host of musical entertainment and food vendors.

“To sweeten the day even more, the City will give away prizes of free lemonade from the ever-popular Ashley’s Lemonade stand. The City’s Back 2 School event is from 2pm to 7pm.

“Entertainment during the afternoon includes musicians, gombeys and DJ Siid James. A digital entertainment area will be set up for gamers of all ages and a fun castle and kids’ zone makes for a great family day out in the City.

“The family festivities will be centered in front of City Hall. Should the weather interfere, a rain date is set for the next day, Sunday September 4th.

“The City also encourages the public to attend a Gospel Celebration that same evening on Dundonald Street at Place’s parking lot from 7pm, also sponsored by the City of Hamilton and produced by Gina Spence Productions and Bermuda Economic Development Corporation.”

The CoH has no obligation to help you prepare YOUR children for back to school. You should be thankful and reserve commentary.

The parking fees didn’t change, they’re just being enforced now – this is not nearly as big a deal as people are making of it.

    • Glowstick Tracker says:

And maybe if people who parked in the city actually paid the rates they should, the city could do more. However the “I am entitled” group thinks its great to steal money from the city by not paying for parking. Enjoy while you can, it looks like the barrier is here to stay and expand.

Corporation thanks for the give back and keep up the good work.
