Court: 44-Year-Old Man Granted $15,000 Bail

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [August 12], a 44-year-old visitor to Bermuda was charged with being in possession of money knowing it to be the proceeds of crime.

Dean Fagon, a Jamaican national who was said to be residing in the United States, was charged with being in possession of just over $10,600 cash, which was alleged to be the proceeds of crime.

The charge arose out of an intervention at LF Wade International Airport on 10th August as Mr Fagon was attempting to leave Bermuda.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo granted bail at $15,000, with conditions were that Mr Fagon was to continue staying at the tourist accommodation he was said to be staying at, report to Hamilton Police Station, surrender his travel documents, and not leave this jurisdiction.

Fagon was ordered to return to Court on 2nd September when a trial date is expected to be set.
