Results: Premier & First Division Cricket Matches

Western Stars, Southampton Rangers, Bailey’s Bay, St. George’s Cricket Club and Somerset Cricket Club all recorded victories in this weekend’s First and Premier Division cricket action.

Premier Division

Western Stars Win by 1 Wicket: St. David’s Cricket Club 235 Western Stars 236/9

At the St. John’s Field, Western Stars gave the St. David’s Cricket Club their first league defeat of the season picking up a 1 wicket victory.

Batting first St. David’s Cricket Club were bowled out for 235, Shannon Raynor was the top scorer with 77, while Delyone Borden added 73. Brian Hall was the pick of the Western Stars bowlers with figures of 10-0-48-4.

In reply Western Stars scored 236/9, with Hall the top scorer with 71, while George O’Brien returned figures of 9-1-50-3 for the St. David’s Cricket Club.

Southampton Rangers Win by 118 Runs: Southampton Rangers 285/9 Cleveland County 167

At the Southampton Oval the Southampton Rangers all but secured the third place spot in the Premier Division following this 118 run victory over relegation threaten Cleveland County.

Batting first Southampton Rangers scored 285/9, with Alex Dore the top scorer with 50, while Steven Bremar was the pick of the Cleveland County bowlers returning figures of 10-1-47-3.

In reply Cleveland County were bowled out for 167 in 42.4 overs, Isaiah Creighton was the top scorer with 29 not out, while Janeiro Tucker returned figures of 7.4-0-22-3 to lead the Southampton Rangers to victory, while Vernon Eve bowled 10-0-43-3.

Bailey’s Bay Win by Default: Bailey’s Bay 0/0 Willow Cuts 0/0

Bottom of the table Willow Cuts failed to turn up to the Sea Breeze Oval for their Premier Division match against second place Bailey’s Bay.

First Division

St. George’s Cricket Club Win by Default: St. George’s Cricket Club 0/0 PHC 0/0

At the Wellington Oval, visitors PHC showed up with only 5 players for their First Division match against the St. George’s Cricket Club.

Somerset Cricket Club Win by 136 Runs: Somerset Cricket Club 322 Somerset Bridge 186

At the Somerset Cricket Club, Jordan DeSilva scored 122 guiding the Somerset Cricket Club to a total of 322, also amongst the runs was Isaiah Richardson who added 86 not out. Clarence Trott took 2-45 fr the Somerset Bridge.

In reply the Somerset Bridge were dismissed for 186, Scott Tucker was the top scorer with 44, Joshua Gilbert took 3-23, while Azhar Morrissey took 3-25.
