Motorcyclist Injured In Collision in Southampton

A 51-year-old Devonshire man was taken to hospital for treatment of a leg injury following a collision this morning in Southampton.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 7:30am today [Thursday, September 8th] police and first responders attended a reported two vehicle collision at the junction of Middle Road and Granaway Heights Road in Southampton.

“It appears that a motorcycle was being ridden along Middle Road and a car was being driven out of Granaway Heights Road when the collision occurred, causing traffic delays for morning commuters.

“The rider, a 51-year-old Devonshire man, received a leg injury and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

“There were no other injuries reported. However, both vehicles were damaged.

“Inquires continue and any witnesses should contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
