Court: Woman Pleads Guilty To Assaulting Sister

October 27, 2016

Appearing in Magistrates Court today [Oct 27], a woman was granted bail after she admitted assaulting and stealing from her sister.

Katrina Every pleaded guilty to assaulting her sister and stealing $120 from her, with both offences occurring in August of this year.

The Crown Prosecutor told Magistrate Archie Warner that Ms Every had previously asked her mother for money, and then Ms Every took money from her sister’s handbag.

Her sister discovered the loss and found Ms Every at Devonshire Dock.

The Court heard that an altercation ensued, and Ms Every apparently knocked her sister to the ground, attempted to choke her, and bit her on the leg.

The Magistrate ordered a Social Inquiry Report, set sentencing for December, and granted bail at $2,000 with one surety in a like amount.
