Photos & Video: Gorham’s ‘Think Pink’ Night

October 7, 2016

Gorham’s recently hosted their “Think Pink” night, a ladies night out aiming to support breast cancer awareness and related local services.

While aimed at women, men were welcome to the event also, which saw a 20 percent discount offered on purchases, along with free food and drink samples, giveaways, the first 500 women receiving a free pink LED flashlight, and more.

.
Some shoppers took advantage of the festive atmosphere and DJ Brotha Richie’s music playing by dancing in the aisle of the store, to the delight of staff and other shoppers who watched with lots of laughter and fun.

The Gorham’s website said, “Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre is committed to fulfilling their mission to provide early detection, support and education services to the community.

“Thanks to their team’s hard work and the generosity of our donors and volunteers, they are able to offer a comprehensive range of services and programmes throughout the year.

“The Centre’s impact in the community is far reaching. The early detection of breast cancer is one of the Centre’s primary functions, with between 600-700 mammograms being performed each month.”

.

Customers with a “Chip and PIN” credit card were able to utilize the new technology, as Gorham’s is one of the first retailers on the island to introduce the new system at their check-out counters.

Bank of Butterfield announced last year that it “has extended “Chip and PIN” technology to its full line of Credit Cards. Chip and PIN Cards feature an embedded, encrypted microchip for data storage that is virtually impossible to replicate, enhancing fraud and counterfeit protection for customers and merchants.”
