2017 Bermuda Cruise Ship Schedule Released

November 3, 2016

The 2017 cruise ship schedule has been released, with 101 contract cruise ship visits and 62 occasional visits included, for a total of 163 visits to Bermuda during the year.

The five contract callers are Grandeur of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas, Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Dawn, and the Summit.

The largest ship to visit the island will be the 1,112 foot long Anthem of the Seas, while the smallest will be the 276 foot long Le Ponant.

The 2017 cruise season will get underway with the arrival of the Queen Victoria on January 12, and will end in December with a visit from The World, which is billed as “the largest private residential ship on the planet.”

Next year will see an increase in visits for both Hamilton and the east end, with 15 cruise calls for St. George and 24 for Hamilton, with BTA CEO Bill Hanbury saying, “Our stakeholders told us it was important to recruit more cruise calls to Hamilton and St. George and I’m proud to say we have delivered.”

““The increase in the number of cruise calls to St. George was made possible through negotiations with Norwegian Cruise Line which was encouraged to increase the number of times its smaller premium brands visited the island,” the BTA said.

“Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas brands will call on St George 12 times in 2017 and on Hamilton twice. Meantime, also in Hamilton, the luxury brand Viking Ocean Cruises will come to Bermuda for the first time – making two calls with its Viking Sea and Viking Sky.”
