Court: 25-Year-Old Admits Possessing Cannabis

November 16, 2016

Appearing in Magistrates Court, a 25-year-old man admitted that he possessed cannabis and a boxcutter.

The Crown Prosecutor told Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo that in April 2016, at the junction of Court and Dundonald Streets, police had witnessed a hand-to-hand transaction between Jah-Fari Flood another man.

Police stopped Flood, and on searching him, Police found a twist and the boxcutter on his person. After analysis, the twist was found to contain 0.06 grams of cannabis.

Flood told the Magistrate that the cannabis was for “personal use” and that he used the cannabis because he “needed relief.”

The Magistrate fined Flood $300 on the possession conviction and $200 on the equipment conviction.
