Saturday: Lighting Of The Town In St. George’s

The Corporation of St. George extends an invitation to the general public to attend the 2nd Annual Lighting of the Town celebrations in King’s Square, St. George’s on Saturday, 26th November 2016 at 6:30pm.

“The Lighting of the Town marks the start of the festive season and has become one of our signature events in the Town,” the Mayor said.

The evening will be filled with entertainment. There will be participation from the Salvation Army Divisional Band, Richard Allen Church Liturgical Dancers, and Their Majesties Choristers from St. Peter’s Church.

The Mayor will be accompanied by the Acting Governor Mrs Ginny Ferson who will do the honours of officially lighting up the Town.

The Mayor added, “All the major work on Water Street is complete and the Street is again open for all to enjoy.” The skating rink will also be open in Somers Gardens.

The public is welcome to come out and enjoy the evening and spend a wonderful evening in St. George’s to start their Christmas season.” I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at the Corporation of St. George for all their hard work in ensuring the Town is ready to receive our guests,” the Mayor concluded.
