Department Of Education Parent Sessions

November 16, 2016

The Department of Education will hold parent engagement sessions on topics of importance to parents, namely the Cambridge Curriculum and Standards-Based Grading, with the first session to be held tomorrow [Nov 17] from 5.45pm to 7.15pm at the CedarBridge Academy Cafetorium.

The second session will be held on Wednesday, November 30 from 5.45pm to 7.15pm at the CedarBridge Academy Cafetorium.

A spokesperson said, “This session is a great opportunity for parents learn more about the Cambridge Curriculum and Cambridge International Examinations.

“This session follows positive feedback from a similar session offered last year for Parent Council members and PTA heads who recommended that all parents be given the chance to learn more about this important topic and ask questions on this topic directly to the Department of Education.

“Parents will be given the chance to test their knowledge and skills with real test questions and get a better understanding of student expectations.

“The second session is for parents to learn more about Standards-Based Grading, which is being introduced throughout the public education system from the primary through senior school levels. Standards-Based Grading will lead to more focused teaching and improved grading practices for the benefit of all students.”
