Sunday November 20th: “Good News” Spotlight

News that Pauletta Francis launched her first children’s book, Flora Duffy claimed yet another world title, the SELLAS Life Sciences Group moved its head office to Bermuda, the First Devonshire Brownies donated children’s shoes and clothes to Haiti, and Bermuda’s James Stout and his partner Jonathan Larken won the Rackets World Doubles Challenge were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.

Other good news stories included entrepreneur Kallie Marcus getting set to host a yoga retreat, the Bermuda Stock Exchange joining the World Federation of Exchanges Board, Axis Capital donating to Age Concern, and Shannon Wolffe winning a free trip to Las Vegas from Digicel.

In additional good news, BIOS’s Ocean Academy Program and the Chatmore Preparatory School partnership has enhanced the school’s science program, Karen Simmons is educating Bermuda’s youth about island hospitality, the Scaur Hill community donated to Age Concern, and Clarien Bank launched its 10th annual Holiday GiveBack Programme.

Other positive news included Tre Houston inspiring CedarBridge Academy students, Shane Robinson being named CPAD Academy’s member of month, singer Valerie Sherwood releasing two new videos, and Bermudian figure skater Vanessa James and her partner Morgan Cipres finishing third in the Trophee de France Grand Prix.

We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the BCHS Men’s Health Screenings event, BNA’s Sylvia Eastley Tournament,  harness pony racing action, the FEI World Dressage Challenge, Brown & Co. celebrating 10 years, and the BGA hosting the Gymnastics Challenge.
