Traffic Diversions On Friday: Regimental Funeral

The police have advised that traffic diversions and parking restrictions will be in effect for the Regimental funeral of Colour Sergeant Keith Whorms on Friday.

A police spokesperson said, “The motoring public is advised that traffic diversions and parking restrictions will be in effect for the Regimental funeral of Colour Sergeant Keith Whorms at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity on Church Street, City of Hamilton 11am Friday, December 2nd.

“The funeral procession will depart Augustus Funeral Home at 10:35am for the Cathedral via the below route:

  • “West on Elliot Street
  • “North on Brunswick Street
  • “West on Beacon Street
  • “South on Cedar Avenue [including going up the one way portion of Cedar Avenue]
  • “Left on Church Street – stopping at the steps of the Cathedral

“Following the memorial service, the funeral procession will depart the Cathedral and return to Augustus Funeral Home via the below route:

  • “East on Church Street
  • “North on Court Street
  • “West on Elliott Street

“Section of Church Street Closed

  • “Church Street between Cedar Avenue and Parliament Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 10:30am until the conclusion of the funeral.

“Parking Restrictions

  • “Vehicles will not be able to park on the north side of Church Street between Cedar Avenue and Parliament Street from 6am until the conclusion of the funeral.”
