Warwick Academy Raises Funds For Haiti

November 2, 2016

Warwick Academy recently launched an initiative to collect gently used shoes and personal hygiene items destined to help with relief efforts in Haiti following the devastating effects of Hurricane Matthew.

In addition to donations, the school’s students are also taking part in a cake raffle today [Nov 2]  in order to raise funds for the cause, with parents and students baking cakes, and students buying tickets in order to win them.

In explaining their motivation, a school spokesperson said, “Bermuda was so lucky to come through Hurricane Nicole with a relatively small amount of damage. However the people of Haiti were not so lucky.”

Well done, praiseworthy efforts! Just don’t send any of the money to the Clinton Foundation, make sure it goes directly to Haiti.
Warmest wishes to all ‘Mudians, from overseas.
