Wells & Huddersfield To Face Manchester City

Bermuda’s Nahki Wells and his Huddersfield Town teammates are set to face Manchester City in the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The club’s announcement said, “Huddersfield Town will face Manchester City at the John Smith’s Stadium in the Fifth Round of the Emirates FA Cup.

“England Manager Gareth Southgate and ex-Premier League footballer Robbie Savage, drew the Terriers’ ball out to face two-time Premier League Champions Manchester City at the John Smith’s Stadium on the weekend of 18 February.

“Managed by Pep Guardiola, Manchester City sits fifth in the Premier League table, with 43 points from 22 games.

“Huddersfield Town has met Manchester City four times in the Emirates FA Cup. The first time the two sides met, City beat Town 4-0 in the Fourth Round of the competition in 1926.

“In 1988 the two sides met three times in the competition; the first two matches ended 2-2 and 0-0 taking the teams to a third replay with Man City progressing after a 3-0 win at Leeds Road.

“The last time the two met was in 2000; the Terriers drew 1-1 with the Citizens in Division One at what was then the McAlpine Stadium.”

The match will take place on the weekend commencing Friday 17 February.
