BNAA Track & Field Athletes In Action Overseas

“The BNAA athletes have had an active weekend and looking forward to another one this coming weekend,” Bermuda National Athletics Association [BNAA] President Donna Raynor said, going on to highlight performances by Jah-Nhai Perinchief and Lamont Marshall, while noting that Dage Minors and Shaquille Dill are set to be in action this coming weekend.

“Jah-Nhai Perinchief and his Iowa Central male teammates placed 1st overall in the NJCA Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend,” Ms Raynor said.

“Jah-Nhai had a good weekend placing 2nd in the High Jump with a leap of 2.15m which was the same height for the top 3, but scoring back Jah-Nhai had one knock down therefore placing him 2nd overall. In the Triple Jump, Jah-Nhai placed 3rd overall with a leap of 15.55m with the winning leap of 15.70m.

“Lamont Marshall competed in the NACAC Cross Country Championships and placed 12th overall out of 27 runners in a time of 23:59.56. Lamont’s goal was to run under 24 has he continues his trek towards qualifying in the steeple chase for the World Outdoor Championships.

“This weekend coming will see Dage Minors and Shaquille Dill competing against each other once again in the NCAA Division II Indoor championships in the 800m. Dage is ranked #1 with a leading time of 1:48.70 and Shaquille ranked 5th in a time of 1:49.71.

“This event takes place in Birmingham, Alabama with the prelims taking place Thursday March 9th and the finals Saturday March 11th. We will be tuned in to that event.”
