Bermuda’s Top 50 Twitter List For April 2017

Twitter continues to give tweeters more room to express themselves.

This past week they announced that tagged usernames in replies will not count towards its 140 character limit.

This follows up previous moves that did not count photos and quoted retweets that limit. You can read more about that here.

Locally, the big news is Bermuda now has four users with more than 100,000 followers. January’s quarter rankings only had WWE and FOX news commentator John Layfield as above that mark.

Joining him are Dr. Cindy Trimm, the America’s Cup and Don Burgess.

Dr. Trimm had been a miss on our list, but she now joins at the number two spot with more than 193,000 followers. Dr. Cindy Trimm Ministries International reaches out across the globe to help spread the Gospel and is driven by its “focus on the Christ-centered message of empowerment—and to this end, trains and mobilizes individuals to promote the Kingdom within their spheres of influence for the betterment of humanity.”

Climbing into the top 10 this quarter is Webster Butler, a telecommunications professional who is into social media marketing. The Bermuda Cricket Board was the month’s biggest gainer in the rankings, moving up three spots from 40th to 37th. Layfield gained the most followers in the month, picking up 15,000 to take his total to just over 750,000.

Joanne Ball-Burgess rejoined the list at #49. The numbers for this report were taken on April 1. The Bermuda Twitter rankings are done once a quarter.
