IRM Presentation On 2017 Hurricane Season

The Institute of Risk Management [IRM] Bermuda Group will be hosting a presentation on ’2017 Hurricane Season in Bermuda: Outlook and Preparation’ on Thursday, May 18 from 8.30am to 10.00am at Zurich Insurance Company at Wellesley House on Pitt’s Bay Road.

Steve Cosham, National Disaster and Public Events Coordinator from the Ministry of National Security will be updating the audience on the preparations underway for the 2017 hurricane season.

Mr. Cosham stated, “In 2016, we concentrated on communications and the communications from the EMO out to the public went better than in previous years and we are planning to make further improvements upon for 2017. How we will communicate better this coming hurricane season and we want to hear from the audience on what they would like to see.”

Kimberley Zuill, Director of Bermuda Weather Service [BWS] will be outlining some of the predictions are for Hurricane Season 2017 as well as the services and support the BWS provide to Government and the general public.

“This presentation is primarily targeted towards CRO, COO, and Office Managers responsible for the Business Continuity planning for their respective businesses,” a spokesperson said. “This session will allow for participants from companies to learn more and to ask questions to help strengthen their company’s preparedness for the upcoming hurricane season.”
