Futsal: Flanagan’s, Atletico & Simplimente Win

A men’s futsal league triple header inside the Bermuda College Gymnasium produced 56 goals on the night.

In the first game, Flanagan’s Onions II were up against their fellow Flanagan’s I team mates. At the half Flanagan’s II led 5 to 3. After scoring 5 more goals in the second-half full-time they ended up winning the game 10 to 6. Treshun Smith was the MVP for Flanagan’s II scoring 6 goals. Flanagan’s I was led by their goal-keeper Kenneth DeSilva, who made a number of outstanding saves to keep the game competitive.

In the second game, an under strength SCC was dominated by Atletico CP [last season's league winner], who rebounded from their previous loss in the first round. At the half, Atletico was up 11 to 1. Atletico scored another 10 goals to SCC’s 1 in the second-half to put the game away and win 21 to 2. Eusebia Blankendal was outstanding for Atletico scoring 5 goals with SCC’s Jaz Ratteray-Smith their best player.

In the third game, Simplemente, remained undefeated with a convincing win against De Warriors. At half-time Simplemente was up 6 to 3. The second-half was more of the same as they scored another 6 goals to De Warrior’s 2 to win the game 12 to 5.

The next round of games is on Monday 22 May starting at 6 pm at the Bermuda College Gym. All games are free admission.
