Bermuda CCCAN Swimming Team Announced

June 5, 2017

The 2017 Central American and Caribbean Swimming Confederation Championships [CCCAN] will be held in Trinidad from June 28th to July 2nd, and Bermuda has selected a team of 16 swimmers to compete at the Championships.

The 15 swimmers that brought back 39 medals from Carifta in Bahamas this year are all members of the CCCAN team, along with Shannon Hassell that missed Carifta to prepare for her IB exams.

“The team will be training hard over the next month in hopes of improving on the results from Carifta. Everyone is looking forward to this event as it will be held at the National Aquatic Center, Balmain Couva in Trinidad. This new facility has been built with a roof and seems very impressive from the pictures that we have seen,” the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Federation said.

“This Championship will kick off a busy summer that includes Commonwealth Youth Games in Bahamas, FINA world Championships in Budapest and FINA world Junior Championships Indianapolis. We hope to have great summer of racing and to continue to build on our success with more personal best times.”

The team will be accompanied by National Coaches Ben Smith and Richard Goodwin, along with team Manager Allison Watson-Brown and team chaperone Rebecca White.
