PechaKucha Bermuda To Be Held On Thursday

June 22, 2017

The 19th edition of PechaKucha Bermuda will be held on Thursday [June 22] at 6.30pm at Warwick Workmens Club off Cobbs Hill in Warwick.

A spokesperson said, “The 19th edition of Pecha Kucha is scheduled for this Thursday at 6:30PM at Warwick Workmens Club off Cobbs Hill in Warwick. An eclectic line up of eight presenters have been organised to present a broad spectrum of unique topics. The format of Pecha Kucha is called “20×20” where 20 images are projected on a screen, each for 20 seconds, while a presenter talks along with the images.

“The presentation is automated, so slides transition regardless of the presenter completing the slide or not. The format ensures that presentations are concise and people often describes them as TED talks on speed.

“Presenters will include Tiffany Paynter who will discuss the concept of the five love languages, Alba Fernandez who will present the “Price of Convenience” and her journey to live a plastic free lifestyle.

“Stuart Kriendler will highlight his experience in the local renewable energy industry and why he is proud to be part of a growing movement to help the planet. David O’Shea will speak about what he has learned in Bermuda and Alex Conyers will talk about a new theory he has called “Compu Personal Syndrome”.

“Manish Thareja and Agam Jain will present their new documentary titled “A Piece of the Rock” which highlights the local reckless driving epidemic and Stratton Hatfield will introduce a revolutionary website highlighting the power of people and authenticated polling.

“Pecha Kucha events involve a variety of people presenting their out-of-the-box creative ideas on any topic of their choice for everyone to enjoy, think about, laugh at and, maybe, be inspired by. The event is free and open to the public while donations are accepted to give back to the hosting club and buy drinks for the presenters. There will be food for sale in addition to drinks from the bar.

“Come one, come all, and be inspired by people thinking and doing different things in Bermuda. Pecha Kucha is hosted four times a year, every three months and if you are interested in presenting in September, please contact Alba Fernandez at albaytal@hotmail.com.”
