Police Confirm Death Of Frank D’Angelo

The police have now confirmed the death of 69-year-old Frank D’Angelo, who was found in an unresponsive state in the water in Southampton.

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 69 year old Frank D’Angelo and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.

“Mr. D’Angelo, said to be from California, was apparently snorkelling in a cove at Horseshoe Bay beach in Southampton when he became unresponsive around 2:15pm Thursday, July 13th.

“The unconscious American visitor was brought to shore by members of the public where CPR was commenced.

“Lifesaving efforts continued while Mr. D’Angelo was being rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance but sadly, he was later pronounced dead.

“A Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to support the deceased’s family and although foul play is not suspected, an autopsy is anticipated.”
