WIA To Host Moonlight Picnic Walk On August 12

July 23, 2017

[Updated] The West Indian Association [WIA] is getting set to host a fundraiser titled “Moonlight Picnic Walk” on Saturday, August 12 at 7.30pm at Clearwater Beach.

The event poster says, “The West Indian Association [Bermuda] [WIA] will be hosting its fundraiser entitled a “Moonlight Picnic Walk” on Saturday 12 August 2017 at the Clearwater Beach starting at 7:30pm.

“WIA members, family and friends will walk from the Clearwater Beach parking area to the Southside Roundabout [close to the old White's Supermarket] and back where we will then picnic under the moonlight.

“Music for the event will be provided by The Matrix “Ninja Cutty”

“All are encouraged to walk with their picnic baskets of goodies and coolers of beverages. Water will be provided.

“This event is the brainchild of Mrs. Shurnette Caines, a founding member of WIA. Mrs. Caines comments that one of the purposes of the walk is to “foster togetherness amongst the WIA members, our families and our friends”

“Part proceeds of the monies raised will be used for the WIA Education Fund [WEF]. The WEF was started in 2015 to make scholarship funding available to members of our West Indian community and extended family.

“There is no registration fee, however, donations to our pledge sheets can be made by contacting our President, Mr Damian Brewster on 524-2216 or our Vice President, Mrs Susan Moore-Williams on 599-5502

“Come walk with us under the beautiful moonlight. Encourage and invite as many of your friends and family as possible.

“Please RSVP your attendance by 9th August 2017 for the walk at wiabda@hotmail.com. Thank you in advance for your continuous support. Hope to see you there.”
