Oct 18: BF&M Breast Cancer Awareness Walk

Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre are gearing up to “Pink Out Loud” for the annual BF&M Breast Cancer Awareness Walk at Barr’s Bay Park on Wednesday, October 18.

A spokesperson said, “This family friendly event marks its 21st year by inviting everyone to “Pink Out Loud”, walk and talk through the streets of Hamilton to benefit Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre’s Radiation Therapy Initiative and Equal Access Fund, providing everyone access to all services offers at the Centre.

“Whether you will be wearing a survivors sash, are a care giver, shoulder to lean on, family or friend or choose to walk “just because”, walk and talk – share your story and help spread awareness of the importance of early detection, signs and symptoms and personal journey.

“This year is about sharing and learning more about the disease that affects 1 in 8 women in Bermuda.”

“Before the walk, starting at 4:00 pm, the breast cancer awareness health fair will be held at Barr’s Bay Park with vendors who promote healthy living in Bermuda. The BF&M Breast Cancer Awareness Walk will begin at 6:00 pm with an uplifting warm up by Bodhi Army starting at 5:45 pm.”

To register, go to racedayworld.com, then collect your walk pack from Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre only; or register at BF&M and receive walk pack; or register at Sportseller and receive walk pack; or register at Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre and receive walk pack.

“Since 2006, BF&M have sponsored the School Spirit Challenge that awards $2,000 and $1,000 the top two Middle/Senior schools that raise the most pledges by Oct 18th. Different photo opportunities through out the event will capture your School Spirit.
