Elevators Repaired At Sylvia Richardson Home

September 12, 2017

Otis Bermuda announced the successful completion of the repairs to the two elevators at the Sylvia Richardson Care Facility in St George’s.

“Following the reports last year of residents at the care home being confined to one floor due to faulty elevators, Otis Bermuda has recently completed the repair of the two elevators. Some residents had to be moved from the top floor so that staff were better able to assist their movements around the facility,” the company said.

“A team of four men, led by Otis Bermuda General Manager John Morran, painstakingly repaired and replaced the controls, wiring and motor controls of the elevators, which had fallen into disrepair.

“To ensure that the lives of the residents of the home were affected as little as possible, the elevators were worked on one at a time, maintaining one functioning elevator at all times.

“Otis Bermuda worked around the needs of the care home staff and residents to minimise disruption and overcame supply issues to deliver the results needed.

“The Sylvia Richardson Care Facility is home to 43 residents and provides residential, nursing and day care to seniors.”

John Morran, General Manager at Otis, said: “At Otis Bermuda we pride ourselves on providing first-class service tailored to the requirements of our clients.

“We are delighted to have repaired the elevator problems at the Sylvia Richardson Care Facility for its residents and staff and we look forward to continuing to provide them with excellent service.”
