Results: Open Water Swimming Championships

The Open Water Bermuda National Swimming Championships took place at the Clearwater Beach this weekend.

Eric Soria and Annette Budge are the Male and Female 5K Champions, while Brian Desmond and Lindsay Scherer are the Male and Female 1500m Champions, and Bella Howes and Lucas Castree are the 400m Female and Male Champions.

Soria clocked a winning time of 1:15:28, with Ilya Cherapau was second in 1:19:32 and Matthew Neuber finished third in 1:25:43.

Budge was the 6th swimmer to cross the line clocking 1:33.00, Alyson Scherer was the second female finisher and 7th across the line in 1:42:26 and clocking a time of 2:03:05 was the third female finisher and 10th overall Caitlin Conyers.

Desmond was clocked across the line in 21:57, he was followed by Jack Harvey who clocked 22:40 and Sam

Williamson finished third in a time of 24:37.

Scherer was the 10th swimmer at the distance to cross the line in a time of 29:39, Madeleine Durkin was the second female and 11th over with a time of 29:53 and finishing 15th at the distance was the third female finisher Caroline Wright who clocked 30:49.

The Girls dominated the 400m Swim Distance with Howes clocking a winning time of 6:28, Caitlin Coleman was second in 6:35 and Daria Desmond finished third stopping the clock in 6:36.

Castree was the first male and 4th overall clocking 6:52, the second male finisher was Brandon Sangster who was 7th across the line with a time of 7:53 and Mike Gazzard was the third male finisher and 9th overall with a time of 8:11.
