Advisory: Road Works Set For Oct 13th & 15th

[Updated] The Ministry of Public Works is advising the public about upcoming road works that will take place on Friday, October 13th and Sunday, October 15th.

A Government spokesperson said, “This Ministry of Public Works is advising of the following upcoming road works / road closures:

“Friday, October 13, starting at 9.30 a.m., the Frog Lane / Montpelier Road Roundabout, in Devonshire will be closed to traffic to accommodate road paving works near the roundabout.

“As a result, Frog Lane will be closed from BFA Way to the roundabout; Parsons Road will be closed from Roberts Avenue to the roundabout; and Montpelier Road will be closed from Happy Valley Road to the roundabout.

“The motoring public is encouraged to use alternative routes when traveling near this roundabout and to follow the area traffic notices in place.

“Sunday, October 15, from 7.00 am until 11.00 am, near the Lower Ferry Stop on Harbour Road, there will be a road closure to allow for new road resurfacing of trench works.

“The trench reinstatement works are being carried out by East End Asphalt Company. Area residents are encouraged to use the detour routes provided to access their properties while this section of Harbor Road is closed.

“Should there be any questions regarding the Harbour Road closure, please direct queries to the attention of the East End Asphalt Company LTD, Mr. Larry Hodge, 799-0789.

“The Ministry thanks the public for their cooperation and patience while these road works are being conducted.”

Update 12.25pm: The Transport Ministry said “The Department of Public Transportation has served notice of a change to the Prospect Circular Bus Route Number 9 on Friday 13th October from 9:30am -3:00pm.

“As a result of road works announced today by the Ministry of Public Works, a portion of Parsons Road [the round- about at National Stadium] will be closed to all vehicular traffic on Friday for most of the day.

“As a result, DPT has made changes to Route 9.

“Buses will travel along Parson’s Road as usual but turn left onto Glebe Road, left on Bishop Spencer, right on Palmetto Road, right on Parson’s Lane, right on Old Military Road, right on Frog Lane, left on Palmetto Road, left on Bishop Spencer, right on Glebe Road and right on Parson’s Road.”
